The Monument Colorado Springs area (also known as the Tri-Lakes area) is located in northern El Paso County Colorado. Approximately 20 minutes north of Colorado Springs and 50 minutes south of Denver in Monument, Colorado. The zip code is 80132 in Monument and 80133 in Palmer Lake. Students attending public schools in this area attend the Lewis-Palmer School District 38, which is also home to Monument Academy, one of the area's most popular charter schools.

The Monument area encompasses two municipalities, the Town of Monument and the Town of Palmer Lake. There are actually three lakes in the area, Palmer Lake is located in the Town of Palmer Lake; Monument Lake is located in the town of Monument, and Lake Woodmoor is located in the Woodmoor subdivision which is just outside the city limits of Monument. The neighborhoods of Kings Deer and Woodmoor also have a neighborhood golf course.

This area has seen sporadic growth and development since the mid-1800’s. Palmer Lake was originally a refueling stop on the Santa Fe railroad, while the Town of Monument grew from a ranching community into what is currently a large suburb between the two largest cities in the State.

People live in the Monument Colorado Springs area primarily because the area feels like Colorado. There are towering Ponderosa Pines and views of the United States Air Force Academy, Pike National Forest, and Front Range. Additionally, this great place provides easy access to both Colorado Springs, Castle Rock and Denver.
